MY REVIEW: I was provided with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
The story is extremely contemporary and relevant, as these days many marriages face the same issues as those described in the book.
Srishti is a single, attractive woman in her thirties living in Delhi. She is successful in her work and enjoys her single life. She is also a fitness enthusiast.
She meets Atharv Mathur who is a new colleague and is drawn to him. Slowly, but surely, they start to interact more and more frequently, until Srishti feels that she is in love with him. Atharv proposes marriage to her.
Srishti’s mother has misgivings about the match as Atharv comes from a large family and she doubts if Sristhti will feel comfortable in Atharv’s home. However, Srishti is sure about her love for Atharv and the two of them proceed to get married.
Issues start to crop up for Srishti as she feels that Atharv is too extravagant with his money and shells out too much money for his family instead of saving for the future. As Atharv does not like Srishti saying anything against his family, Srishti starts to withdraw from him and starts to focus more and more on her career.
Unfortunately, Srishti also seeks solace elsewhere and finds herself involved with another man.
So of course the question raised in the story is whether Srishti is able to overcome various hurdles and work out her marital problems. The reader needs to read the book to find out.
I recommend “Honey & the Moon” to readers who like to read realistic, contemporary romance fiction.

MY REVIEW: I was provided with a copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
The story is certainly different from anything that I have read so far. It deals with the pertinent question of rape.
Palak is a beautiful young woman studying in college. She is leading a fun life of drinking, partying and even drugs with her group of friends. While stoic Rohin in her group of friends appears to be attracted to her, Palak herself is interested in another friend Jahan.
Palak’s life takes a turn for the worse when she attends a rave party with her friends. She wakes up the next morning with no recollection of the previous night. But the battered condition of her body tells her that something serious and unpleasant has happened to her. She faces further humiliation when there is a sex video of her and Rohin doing the rounds.
Rohin takes Palak to his home town in order to get away from the gossip and speculation. Palak goes through a tremendous ordeal as she struggles to come to terms with what has happened to her.
Will Rohin be able to find out what actually transpired on the night of the party? Will Palak be able to heal? The author has beautifully depicted Palak’s thoughts, feelings and emotions in the story.
I recommend this book to readers as value for money.

MY REVIEW: I was provided with a copy of this book by the author Chitrangada Mukherjee in exchange for an honest review.
The story is about Madhu (Madhubala), whose husband has died recently after only a year of marriage. Madhu now lives with her elderly mother-in-law and teaches Social Science in a school.
The story is witty, hilarious, extremely interesting and poignant at the same time. Though Madhu misses her husband intensely, she is still portrayed as a woman with normal needs and desires. She takes solace in alcohol and a fling with a colleague.
Madhu’s workplace, i.e. the school, is extremely well depicted with interesting descriptions of the staffroom, her bitchy colleagues, the pushy parents and the demanding principal.
I also loved the characters of Madhu’s parents and her mother-in-law Lalitaji as well as her best friend Pintu.
On the whole, the story is extremely modern and accurately shows the dynamics of relationships today. Will there be a happy ending for Madhu? The reader needs to read the story to find out.
I highly recommend ‘Secret Diary of an Incurable Romantic’ to readers as a real page-turner of a novel!
